Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter / Mitarbeiterin gesucht Die Abteilung nimmt an zwei Kompetenznetzen des BMBF (Diabetes mellitus und Adipositas) mit bundesweiten Dokumentationsprojekten sowie einem europäischen Verbundprojekt teil (siehe http://www.peda-qs.de). Hierbei geht es um externe Qualitätsvergleiche der Prozess- und Ergebnisqualität, sowie um epidemiologische Auswertungen großer Datenbanken. Kenntnisse in Public Health und entsprechenden Statistikpaketen (SAS) sind von Vorteil. Wissenschaftliches Interesse und Publikationserfahrung wird vorausgesetzt. In der Forschergruppe Diabetes ist zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt die Stelle einer/s Assistenzärztin/arztes für klinische Studien zu besetzen. Die Arbeitsgruppe von Frau Prof. Ziegler beschäftigt sich mit der Prävention von Typ 1 Diabetes. Zu diesem Zweck werden verschiedene Beobachtungs- und Interventionsstudien durchgeführt. The DZD-Paul Langerhans Institute Dresden (PLID) (http://www.dzd-ev.de/themen/partner/tu-dresden/index.html) at the University Hospital of TU Dresden (TUD) is a recently established research program focused on the pathogenesis of type 1 and type 2 diabetes. It’s main focus is on the mechanisms causing the destruction of pancreatic beta cells and/or their insufficient insulin secretion, and identifying avenues to reinstate beta cell function. We are looking for: 2 Group Leaders Applicants should have an outstanding international scientific track record in one or more fields including (but not restricted to): developmental/cell biology, physiology, or bioengineering of pancreatic islets; in vivo imaging of islets; human transplant immunology. Successful candidates will receive a competitive start-up package and will be supported in applications for group leader funding from agencies such as the Deutsche ForschungsGemeinschaft, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation or the European Union. Research groups would run for 3 years, with possibility of extension for two or more years, with lab space in the Biopolis campus along the beautiful valley of the river Elbe.
